Our Mission;
The mission of the Lower Savannah River Alliance is to develop, coordinate, evaluate, facilitate, market, and implement opportunities for the development and enhancement of nature-based businesses within the Lower Savannah River Region.
Goals:
The Alliance works to accomplish its mission through the pursuit of strategic goals aimed at creating, developing, incubating, and enhancing the infrastructure required to support nature-based business and tourism along with economic development throughout the bi-state lower Savannah River corridor.
A few of these goals include:
Identifying existing resources available for public education.
Developing information for the public concerning educational and recreational opportunities on and along the river.
Seeking to identifying and providing comprehensive information and help to members of the private sector that may have an interest in investing in a river related business.
Developing self-guided river adventure tours.
Developing a Visitors Center on US Highway 301, south of Allendale.
Including stakeholders and users of the river in this vision and effort.
Membership;
Membership of the Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from seven counties in two states. They are:
Burke, Effingham, and Screven Counties in Georgia.
Allendale, Barnwell, Hampton, and Jasper Counties in South Carolina.
